Should we add a poll for the poll?[]

What I mean is a poll to tell us which kind of style you voted for? Because there isn't a way to view the results.

This is intented, since results from wikia polls are easily manipulated and Ed should get the data from his own survey. There is no way I can extract any results from an external survey. Actually I edited this in to support him and maybe help gather more data for the remake.

Hope that answers your question.

Where is the pixelated duke of flies from?

It is from Edmunds Twitter, https://twitter.com/EdmundMcMillenn , also, yes, he got his twitter back.

Real "new" final final true finale real last ending[]

When this update comes out, will we create new pages for the 5 'new' final bosses and "FINAL" ending, as well as pictures of the pixelated versions of every monster?

Fawful esq. (or Faw) (talk) 04:47, December 5, 2012 (UTC)

We will probably create a whole new page that is dedicated to it. Maybe even add to art to the site to show that this will be all retro. We will know in a year (i hope). GameBoy14 (talk) 06:02, December 5, 2012 (UTC)

Ed said "the now 5 final bosses"  each unlock something. So if you subtract the other bosses that unlock collectibles (NOT TRINKETS, mind you!) , we have:  Mom, Mom's Heart / It Lives, Satan and Isaac (Boss). That would leave us with one new final boss. However the wording is not clear so this might prove wrong. ^^

As for the wiki, we have quite a few options:

  • Make a new wiki :
Not advisable, this would only split contributors. Also, who would want to use two wikis for the same thematic?

  • Make seperate page for pixel and normal versions:
Again this would kind of confuse people, and also it would clutter up pages and make it a real nightmare to manage.

  • Put the pixelated versions on the same page:
Kind of right, but page grow to huge sizes.

  • Tab each page to have a "Original" and a "Rebirth":
(Example from the RE wiki http://residentevil.wikia.com/Ustanak) This is kind of a blend between extra page and keeping it on a single page.  That will require some effort with naming pages, but this version looks the most user friendly.

That's it for the Rebirth stuff. In the mean time all that's left to do it to streamline the wiki. And practice sprite ripping.

Doomspeaker Talk Contributions 08:24, December 5, 2012 (UTC)

I am in favour of the last option. It would work well and keep the Wiki clean. Could there be an option somewhere to set the default as to which tab each page should start on? Not entirely needed, but it'd be a nice option for some.

Also, on a similar topic, when Rebirth actually comes out, what will we do in terms of the background? Could we have it alternating randomly? Stay on one specific background? Or perhaps it could change depending on the tab selected for the page? (That would be if Doomspeaker's tab option came into play).

~Whismy~ (talk) 02:42, December 7, 2012 (UTC)

Thankfully we got lots of time to work out layouts etc to be ready when the game comes out. Stuff like how to name pages properly etc.

Currently I am not aware of a way to allow users what to display first. As for specifict backgrounds, yes it is possible to show a different one for specific pages (each tab counts as a different page), but I'd have to add a seperate entry for each page manually. Sounds like work for later stages.

I doubt it will be out on BD for PS3 and PSV, just digital download

Expansion/Sequel/Remastery[]

What is this release being distributed as? A separate game, like a 'BoI 1.5 sequel'?

I gather that this isn't a pure expansion DLC like WotL, at least not in the same vein. If it's running on a completely different engine, then it's a wholly seperate program, even if all the features of the Flash game are included (or replicated).

OK, So then what's the fate for the current BoI game? Will it still receive updates and bugfixes and whatever, or is McMillan's developer support going to be focussed entirely on Rebirth? In other words, is there going to be any point in anyone buying the flash-based game when rebirth is released, or is there going to be some incentive on bringing the old Isaac out of purgatory? How do the games fit together? // TenhGrey (talk) 21:30, May 31, 2013 (UTC)

It's a completely separate game made from scratch. Think BoI+WotL with a 16 bit style and new items/bosses/floors etc.

The current game can't receive updates at all because of flash limitations. We're gonna be stuck on 1.48 for the rest of our lives. The only point to buying it once rebirth comes out is for old time's sake or for a different art style. Oil Rope Bombs (talk) 22:23, May 31, 2013 (UTC)

Rope forgot to mention the shitload of added and rebalanced contend. The game will basically be BoI if it would have had the luxury of a full development cycle.

Edmund officially said on his dev page that the game will have more resolution options that "won't suck". Either something wrong happened with development, or I'm a dumb monkey, since I can't find ANY resolution options in Rebirth. Can anyone please tell me what is going on?

Keeping Rebirth and the original separate[]

Suggestion: put Rebirth info into separate pages instead of adding new sections to original pages - such as make an Items (Rebirth) page instead of adding a section to Items. -- OneMore (talk) 15:44, November 5, 2014 (UTC)

I support this, including new pages for old items that appear in rebirth.

Please change this..[]

Hello, I'm new to wikia (So I am sorry if I am breaking any rules.), and I'd like to say that there is something incredibly wrong with this page..

"Edmund wants to release the game on the Nintendo 3DS. However, due to Nintendo's policies on religion in games, this is not possible, so there is virtually no chance for Rebirth to come to the 3DS."

There is multiple evidence to suggest Rebirth being on a Nintendo console such as..

I've also heard that Edmund released a few videos of Rebirth with the exact same resolution as the 3ds. Anyway all I am saying is that Rebirth on 3ds (And Wii U!) is possible now, and the wiki should say it's possible. (Instead of set in stone impossible.) Delete Rebirth Pages (?)[]

Why do you delete rebirth related pages? This is Binding of Isaac wiki and rebirth IS a Binding of Isaac so this is unnecessary deleting pages. If this is only vanilla Isaac wiki then that wiki DOESN'T HAVE SENSE because majority players doesn't play vanilla anymore. I suggest do information above article something like that "[picture] This article is for rebirth contest only". I appeal to Admin to end this nonsense because ONLY vanilla Isaac wiki doesn't have sense anymore

It seems they're shunting it to gamepedia. And for some reason have decided that people who wish to stay on Wikia are SOL. It's just like when the Fallout Wikia admin got a bug up his ass and went to Curse (how's that working out?). Hopefully the current admin will fully jump ship and it'll be possible to make this Wikia useful again. I doubt it though. Admins tend to be petty about things like that. Tyrasis (talk) 22:57, November 16, 2014 (UTC)
Gamepedia is a Curse website.
CybeastFalzar (talk) 04:51, November 17, 2014 (UTC)
We've pretty much moved to Gamepedia. In fact, this wiki was never supposed to be on wikia in the first place, but eventually it was too late to move it; we're not going to make the same mistake with Rebirth. Besides, having two separate wikis is much more clean. Oil_Rope_Bombs Converse 05:16, November 17, 2014 (UTC)

Lazarus[]

I noticed that in the rebirth article it said lazarus's stats were unknown so I thought I might clarify that a bit. Lazarus starts the game with a random pill and an extra life from what I can tell and based on the stats screen he has a speed of 2, tears of 1, damage of 2, range of 1.  There are also two more stats listed of which i'm not sure what they are, but my guess is that they are shotspeed and faith which are 2 and 1 for lazarus respectively.

Edit: I did a search and found that there is a page on Lazarus already, this page should be updated with new information, or perhaps with links to the other pages as there is no easy way to get to them unless you are looking specifically for them and know what the pages are called.

Why don't we use the other wiki? It's almost full of pages already[]

The wiki is becoming a freaking mess with those rebirth items and trinkets and what-not... what if people jst used the other wiki instead? This wiki here is a great source of vanilla stuff, but the way people made the rebirth stuff is just terrible. The base things are the same, what if someone wants to see wich rooms are there in rebirth or on vanilla? They will see the library and just think there is no library on rebirth! It's real messy to be honest.

take a look at the rebirth monsters page, it's growing with the new versions of the monsters and new mosnters, this one should keep the old one with vanilla monsters.

(Sorry if it looks like I'm promoting, it's just that if they add the rebirth monsters to the vanilla monster table it would be too messy.)

According to wiki, having Rebirth content on another wiki counts are "advertising a competing wiki" and we aren't allowed to have any control over the content here being added, because some people insist on adding Rebirth content. This also means there is no way to manage Rebirth content other than painstalkingly move data from users who don't bother to put it into correct places.

I might find the time to set up a questionary (not a simple poll, as these can be manipulated way too easily) that collects the users interests on the matter so we can finally settle things back into a routine.
