Maws are monsters appearing in both The Binding of Isaac and the Rebirth remake. They appear as pale severed heads that float with empty, bleeding eye sockets, and a wide open mouth with a few teeth inside.
They first appear in Chapter 2.
Behavior
Maws are similar to Horfs but upgraded; in addition to shooting blood shots at Isaac like a Horf, they slowly float toward him. Maws take a lot more knockback from Isaac's tears, which allows them to unpredictably bounce around the room.
Eternal Champion Behavior
Eternal Maw shoots a wide spread of 8 blood shots at Isaac while floating toward Isaac.
Notes
- Champion varieties of Maws fire much larger blood shots.
- They can be spawned by Mr. Maws after destroying their bodies.
