Maggots are a type of monsters, only encountered in The Caves or The Catacombs. As their name suggests, they're blind, white maggots, which lack any appendages.
Behavior
Maggots simply crawl around the room blindly in cardinal directions, not targeting Isaac. Because they don't follow Isaac and move very slowly, it is easy to avoid them. Maggots are thus only dangerous in great numbers and enclosed areas, where it can be difficult shooting at them safely without running into them.
Champion Variant 
Eternal Maggot leaves green creep, and will turn into an Eternal Sack (the Sack does not spawn Spiders), which finally becomes a stronger Eternal Fat Fly that shoots 3 shots instead of 2.
